Stay Organized Through The Holiday Season - by Joel Arnold, TTNLearning

December is a wonderful month, full of holidays, family traditions, and a chance to get to know that certain uncle or aunt all over again. It can also be a rather stressful month if you let it, hamstringing your chances for getting a great jump into the New Year. But instead of spending the month chasing and putting out fires, be proactive. Whether it’s for work or home, create lists; write out all the things that need to be done. Then, as Brian Tracy suggests, use the A, B, C, D, E method of assigning everything on your list with one of these letters;

A – for those items that must get done, and have the most serious consequences if they don’t get done. Example – Invite family over for the holidays.
B – for those things you should do. Example – Clean house before family arrives.
C – for those things that won’t have consequences if not done. Example – Wrap decorative lights around rain spouts.
D – for those items you can delegate. Example – Have kids clean living room before guests arrive!
And finally, E – for those items you can eliminate. Example – Find special toilet paper that says ‘Ho-Ho-Ho’ on each square.

Once you’ve categorized your list in this way, start on the most important tasks; the A’s on the list, and go from there.
This way, not only will you have a great December, you’ll also be ready to leap into 2009 and make it your best year ever.

The Three Factors of Time - by Brian Tracy

Organize Your Life Around Your Family, Your Career and Your Personal Goals

You need to stand back on a regular basis and analyze yourself, your life and your time usage. You need to become a master of your time rather than a slave to continuing time pressures.

Your Most Precious Resource
Time is your most precious resource. It is the most valuable thing you have. It is perishable, it is irreplaceable, and it cannot be saved. It can only be reallocated from activities of lower value to activities of higher value. All work requires time. And time is absolutely essential for the important relationships in your life. The very act of taking a moment to think about your time before you spend it will begin to improve your personal time management immediately.
